With great technological innovations Medicine is becoming more and more expensive and technical with and loosing a human touch. My vision for this Blog is to integrate practical ancient Indian Wisdom of Yogis and seers with modern scientific medical knowledge. Let us discuss our experiences and role of various integrative methods from various fields including Whole Health, Homeopathy, Yoga, Meditation, prayers, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Mind body Medicine, Battlefield acupuncture, Energy Medicine for having more fulfilling and healthy lives.

Let us Share our experiences and tips for a joyous, peaceful and healthy life for us Hardonians, our children, our grandchildren and hopefully for some of our patients.

The First article in this series is on our Hardinge motto “per ardua adsastra” (thru adversity to stars). A practical example of how we used this motto to create a prayer group of our Hardinge classmates to go thru the anxiety and stresses of Covid’s hard times. Prayer was shown to improve our mental health! Please message us on this blog or at infolhmcaana@gmail.com for more information.

The first Apna Ghar Ashram was established by a physician couple Dr. Brij Mohan & Madhuri Bhardwaj in Bharatpur, Rajasthan on 29th June, 2000. Now there are 35 Apna Ghar Ashrams in 8 States in India. Their process can be summarized in 3 R’s… Rescue, Rehabilitate and Reintegrate.

Gleanings from interviews with Apna Ghar Founders, Dr. Brij Mohan & Madhuri Bhardwaj

We want our country to have no hungry person left alone.

We don’t bring them here just to fill their stomach’s, they were getting food on the railway stations, temples and streets anyway.

We bring them here to tell them why worry we are here for you.

This work is worship of God and not Social Service. This is our worship, meditation and prayer

One sees extremes at our Ashrams, the toughest of human suffering in terms of disease and depravity AND the brightest, most loving and lasting happiness here..

Remarks of a visitor to Apna Ghar Ashram: “Visiting an Apna Ghar Ashram one experiences joy and sorrow, life and death, union and separation all wrapped up.

The Ashram, was established in January 2019 in a rented space. To date, 175+ persons have been rehabilitated and 25 have been reunited with their families. The inmates are believed to be Prabhuji’s and their care is free. Recently, a donor donated land for Apna Ghar Ashram to build a new facility. The 1970 batch of LHMC (Lady Hardinge Medical College) and Hardonian Friends have made donations which will be used towards the construction of a new facility for the he Ashram.
