About Us

Lady Hardinge Medical College Association of North America (LHMCAANA; Pronounce-Limcaana)

We are a society of Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) alumni residing in North America. We are registered as a not-for-profit organization.

Our mission is to bring together medical graduates of LHMC to create a vibrant network of alumni to celebrate, support and empower each other. LHMCAANA community fosters several recreational subgroups to cultivate and inspire specific areas of interest like music, dance, cooking, reading, meditation, scientific interactions, and networking.

History of LHMCAANA

The Lady Hardinge Medical Association of North America was conceived by a small group of alumni at the 1989 annual meeting of the American Association of Physicians from India (AAPI) in Orlando, Florida.

The founding members were Drs. Chander Mukhi Kapoor Kapasi, Kanta Markan Nanda, Saroj Sud Kapur, Santosh Sud Kansal, Manorama Banwatt Saini, Manishi Gangwar Mukherjee, Vimla Chablani and Savita Gupta Pahwa.

The association grew in membership and recognition under the leadership of its founding president Dr. Kapasi (1989-1997), followed by Dr. Shashi Sharma (1997-2008), Dr. Santosh Khanna (2008-2011), Dr. Chitra Kuthiala (2011-2012), Dr. Satty Keswani (2012-2016), Dr. Seema Arora(2016-2018) and Dr. Archana Maini (2018-2021).

ABOUT OUR ASSOCIATION

The Lady Hardinge Medical College Association of North America is a group of more than 1000 alumni motivated towards empowering women physicians from its Alma Mater settled in North America.
