LHMCAANA Melodies

Where we immerse ourselves in music....

The LHMCAANA Melodies is an international group of 150 members including singers, listeners, and instrument players who immerse themselves in music and bond with each other through the language of music.

The Club was launched on Sept. 28 2021. We have an active Whatsapp group where we share our recordings of songs and encourage each other to sing. We meet every 2 weeks on Zoom at a themed Mehfil. Members are required to share in advance, what song they shall present. Our compere, Neelam Kohli, now a honorary Hardonian(!), an outstanding singer with a unsurpassed wealth of knowledge about all genre of music weaves the chosen songs into a story, making the program exceptionally enjoyable.

Our goal is to have everyone who is willing to sing to be able to sing at the Mehfil and add to the BonHomie. We have discovered the beautiful voice of Dr. Chandrama Anand and Dr. Sharda Jain who have graced us with their singing at the events.

In our inaugural meet, we paid tribute to Dr. Chinna Dua (graduating batch 1983) whom we lost to Covid in June 2021. Chinna was a trained singer as well as a breast radiologist.

In our third meet, we honored Chandrama ma’am by singing songs with the word chand, tare or raat. We recently held our 10th Mehfil. The themes of the Mehfils have included Shammi Kapoor; movies of Indian Royalty; Bhajans; Songs of the 3C's,cabaret, celebrations and clubs; Bimal Roy; Raj Kapoor; Madhubala; and most recently Dev Anand.

The LHMCHAANA melodies group has taken off with a bang, Our WHATSAPP chat is exploding with enthusiasm as members are enjoying each other’s recordings of songs and bhajans every day.
