Dr. Chawla graduated from Lady Hardinge Medical College in 1950 and worked as a professor in Radiology. She served as a principal of LHMC from 1977-1985.
Dr Sapru joined Lady Hardinge Medical College in 1982 and fulfilled her dream of becoming a doctor. She was married to Mohan Karkada, loving mother to Manolhas (Moe) and Manasi. She moved to Canada from Chandigarh in 1995, and passed away in Halifax, Nova Scotia on 17th Aug 2021, after a 16-year tough battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Dr. Manorama Saini, was the first woman president of the Indian Medical Association of New England (IMANE).
She was born in Jalandhar, India in 1928 where her parents Narain Singh Banwatt and Vidya Vati were practicing physicians. Not surprisingly, she followed her parents’ footsteps and entered Lady Hardinge Medical College at the age of 16, graduating in 1949.
The Lady Hardinge Medical College Association of North America is a group of more than 1000 alumni motivated towards empowering women physicians from its Alma Mater settled in North America.
