I am an alumnus of LHMC, an institution I dearly love and grateful to. It opened up the opportunities for me to become a physician. I have enjoyed working as a physician with great passion.

I moved to the USA in 1978 , did residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine. Went onto practice Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care which I really enjoyed. Later I transitioned to practicing Internal Medicine due to family commitments.

I loved being a part of LHMCAANA.It has given me opportunities to connect with fellow Hardonians and enjoy the rich heritage. I had joined as a member but became a Patron Member after attending the very first Annual Gala at DC in 2022. It was such a joy connecting with other alumni. The volunteer and giving spirit was really palpable.

I have had several administrative roles over the years : Member of Medical Executive Committee and of Board of Governors of the hospital for many years; Chairperson, Department of Medicine ; Chairperson of Critical Care Committee and Utilization Review Committees; Chair, Outreach and Public Education for Indian American Medical Association, Illinois. I also served as President of our county medical society. On the academic side, I mentored/taught medical students during clinical rotation as assistant professor, UIC Medical College.

Vision for Outreach Committee : Continue the excellent work that’s being done. The support that is being provided by networking is excellent. We should continually brainstorm for new ideas. To recruit more Hardonians and keep them engaged.

I joined the Globe Trotters as I am passionate about traveling. Looking forward to traveling with the alumni group. I hope it will give us even more opportunities to gel with each other as well as explore new parts of the world.
