My name is Shikha Shukla and I am a proud alumnus of Lady Hardinge Medical College. Growing up, I called a new country home every three years and acquired a global, inclusive outlook early on. I returned to India for medical school and lived on campus between 2009 and 2015. My years in Lady Hardinge were integral to the physician I am today.
I completed Anesthesiology Residency at Yale University between 2016 - 2020 and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Columbia University in 2021. I am now faculty at Beaumont Hospital in Michigan where I live happily with my husband. As a young attending physician, I am embarking on new adventures both in operating rooms and through travelling. This chapter in life is allowing me to rediscover nature, build new skills and strengthen relationships.
Becoming a Life Member of LHMCAANA was driven by my desire to stay connected with my alma mater. I recognize the value of a platform for alumni to come together and share their experiences, knowledge, and skills. I wish to execute events that foster a sense of community and promote the exchange ideas among members.
I bring my passion for travel and for female physician leaders together as a member of the LHMCAANA Globetrotters Organizing Committee. Our goal is to provide lasting camaraderie and an opportunity for new voyages. I believe travel promotes cultural understanding, broader acceptance, and self-reflection.
LHMC is a community we will always be a part of. After all, we have all spread our wings from the same beginnings in New Delhi. Per Ardua Ad Astra.
