Madhuri Thota

I come from an Army background so Hardinge was the first place in my life that I stayed more than three years after I joined in 1990!! I did my residency in Family Medicine and a fellowship in Obstetrics. I work for a human rights organization providing care to homeless and HIV+ patients and provide OB care for immigrants and patients seeking asylum. I also work in an urgent care. My experiences include trips to Iraq and Haiti after the earthquake. I am part of a small NGO providing medical care in a slum area in Hyderabad. My son is 15 years, and my daughter is 18 years. More than an MBBS degree, Hardinge makes space and freedom for teenage girls to dream. Being in a women’s only medical college, instilled a sense of confidence and fearlessness that has served me well. I feel it is my responsibility to pay it forward and make lives better for other women. I have lifelong bonds with extraordinary friends that I will treasure for the rest of my life. Through LHMCAANA I have met some amazing women of personality and have expanded my Hardinge family. I have joined some of the fun clubs and hope to continue fostering these relationships and making newer ones.

I love hiking and travel to non-touristy areas in the world.

My Vision

“Through LHMCAANA my hope is to start programs that are geared towards empowering women and girls in India. I am very early in my spiritual journey, but I do believe in Karma.”
