Paramjeet Kochhar

I joined LHMC in 1970 graduating in 1974.

After completing MD in pediatrics at Maulana Azad Medical College I moved to the US in 1980 and have pursued a career in Pediatrics. I retired from the University of Michigan as Emeritus Assistant Professor in Pediatrics after working here for 36 years.

I have loved to sing since my childhood. Whenever my parents left me home alone to study I would turn the radio on very loud and sing at the top of my voice with Lata Mangeshkar and other singers ! I enjoyed semiclassical songs and thought them to be more challenging. No one in my family knew that I sing !

My other hobbies are painting, beading, gardening, cooking and gymming.

My husband retired from Ford motor company. I have 2 daughters, one in Ann Arbor and the other In Rhode Island. Oh and I just had my first grandchild on September 17, 2021.

The LMCANNA melodies group is so much fun. I get an opportunity to practice and present and improve upon my hobby.

Many of our alumni are getting to know each other and enjoying singing and listening. Everyone is learning new songs. Our fortnightly live program on Zoom is very enjoyable. Everyone is glued to the program and 2 hrs go by in a wink.

I want to invite all of you to listen to singers from your Alma matter. In the future I see us playing live antakshari at our in-person get togethers and hope that some day we give a live performance and make LHMC famous!
