I am a proud Hardonian from the batch of 1980. I am currently leading global clinical development of anti-infective and tropical medicines at Novartis pharmaceuticals; my current focus among others is on therapeutics for COVID-19 and pandemic preparedness. I am also on the FDA’s Advisory Committee for Antimicrobial Agents.
My work on tropical diseases, pandemic preparedness in Global Health, gives me the opportunity to work closely with the academic, governmental, and non-profit organizations including WHO, Gates Foundation, DNDi, EDCTP, SwissTropic Institute and the NIH. I am also a member of the FDA’s Advisory Committee for Antimicrobial Agents.
Before joining pharma industry about 20 years ago, I was on the faculty of Seth GS Medical College and KEM hospital in Mumbai for six years.
My students and team members find me inspiring, collaborative, curious and compassionate. Over the years, I have mentored and coached several students, colleagues, and young women. I am recognized for leading by example and helping my teams and mentees visualize and realize their full potential.
As the president of LHMCAANA, I envision LHMCAANA as a vibrant and joyful community of LHMC alumni in North America who inspire and support each other and other women in their lives, communities and around the world.
