Ranju Gupta

MBBS, MD

I joined MBBS at LHMC in 1990. After I moved to the USA in 2000, I did my residency at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, NY from 2002-2005, and was the chief resident during my third year. After completing my fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology from Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY from 2005-2008, I started as an attending physician at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Bethlehem, PA, where I specialize in breast cancer, but still treat all cancers.

I have been a board member of a 501c non-profit organization started by patient called Pink Pumpkin Coin 4 Chemo since 2015. We host multiple fundraisers throughout the year and donate to the LVHN Prager Fund which uses the money to help our cancer patients with gift cards for groceries, cab rides, and payments of various utility bills.

I have won many awards over the years including the LVHN Service Excellence Award, The Provider Service Award, and the Friends of Nursing Award in 2019. My most recent achievement was the Lehigh Valley Businesswomen of Influence 2021 Award in which I was one of the six Circle of Excellence honorees. I have also been an executive member of LV-AAPI for the past four years and have been actively involved in organizing health fairs, flu vaccination clinics, etc. in the Indian community.

I am very proud to be a Hardonian and I attribute a great deal of my success and passion for service to what I learnt in Hardinge. We were like a "Kora Kagaz" when we started our MBBS, but Hardinge made an indelible impression on us. I see the same passion and feeling of service in other Hardonians also. I am so fortunate to be part of LHMCAANA and find what feels like a family in such a short time, especially in the USA. I am so fortunate that this amazing family includes knowledgeable seniors who will mentor and guide me, and juniors who I hope will seek out my help.

My Vision

I see LHMCAANA as a platform to connect all the Hardonians in North America so that we can support each other by mentoring and giving any needed guidance. As an organization, we can then support and give back to LHMC- our Alma Mater. My vision for LHMCAANA is for it to be an organization that not only supports LHMC with scholarships and meaningful education, but an organization that is strong enough to start impactful programs at Hardinge such as career development, mentorships, support for financially struggling students, programs to support Hardonians who face domestic violence, and many more!

I also want LHMCAANA to be fun where we can socially interact, party, and enjoy and learn from each other!
