My name is Renu Darbari, I joined Lady Hardinge Medical College in 1967 and graduated in December 1971 writing our final Prof Exams during the black outs of the Indo Pak War!! I did my Senior Residency in Pediatrics for 4 yrs in Kalawati Saran Children Hospital, following which, I started a very enjoyable Private Practice in Delhi in 1981. Over the years I metamorphosed into a family physician and retired 6 years ago after developing vastly rewarding relationships with my patients. I received several awards during my student days; memorable among them were for ‘being the most sympathetic student’ and the Rotary International Award for services to the Community for 1978 -1979.
Along with academics, I was fortunate to have friends interested in music and actively participated in the annual functions at LHMC and other music and dance performances of very senior artists in auditoriums around Delhi.
I am now pursuing my hobbies and spending time pursuing music again knowing fully well that my voice is aging!! I am also knitting and spending time with my grandchildren. I learnt classical music, dancing & Sitar before I joined medicine, it then went to a backbench in my life!. I sing with my past knowledge.
I envision the LHMCAANA Melodies as a small platform where we share ideas and experiences on music sans politics and religion, leading to Community building and Compassion for each other; adding to the excellent reputation of the only women’s Medical College in the world- our alma mater LHMC..
Happy and Melodious journey...
