First Annual Zoom Meeting of LHMCAANA

Archana Maini ‘81 took charge as President of LHMCAANA at the annual AAPI meeting of July 2019 at Columbus, Ohio. Lately LHMCAANA has held its annual meeting at the annual AAPI Conventions but due to the COVID 19 pandemic, AAPI postponed its live annual convention for 2020. Therefore, this year we chose to hold our maiden zoom meeting on Feb 20, 2021. It was well attended with over 50 participants and was a very successful event.

Report of LHMCAANA being in good standing with IRS and 501(c) determination

Members were informed about:

  • The formation of a nomination committee comprising of Madhu Ahluwalia ’66, Asha Sharma Mishra ‘72 and KumKum Sood Bhasin ‘70.
  • Formation of a professional Whatsapp group strictly for Hardonians for networking.
  • Exploration of joint meetings with MAMCAANA.
  • Banking details for LHMCAANA.
  • The need for LHMCAANA website to be reset.

A need for several other committees was identified:

  • Committee for revision of by-laws of LHMCAANA.
  • Committee for revision of Goals/Vision of LHMCAANA.
  • Membership Committee.
  • Communications Committee for website, newsletter and social media.
  • Liaison Committee between LHMCAA and LHMCAANA.
  • Projects Committee for scholarships, CME, Education, Miscellaneous needs.
  • Social/Entertainment Committee.

LHMCAANA members were informed about LHMCAA and activities sponsored by it.

Founding President Dr. Chander Kapasi shared a historical presentation about LHMCAANA and its inception and past events and past Presidents.

Madhu Ahluwalia ’66 hosted a Meet and Greet that was enjoyed by the attendees.

Dr. Neeraj Mathur, Principal LHMC sent a prerecorded message to the alumni.

Asha Sharma Mishra ‘72, informed members about existing scholarships at LHMC which are sponsored by LHMCAA and the Diamond Jubilee Foundation (DJF). Funds are only accepted in INR.

KumKum Sood Bhasin ’70 informed the members about Foundation for Excellence (FFE), a registered 501(C) 3 in Silicon Valley to sponsor 5 freshman students from the 2020 batch at LHMC. Funds are only accepted in USD.

The formal program ended at 6 PM EST and many members stayed back to chat and catch up.
