LHMCAANA Rejuvenation

  • 11 Jul 2021
  • 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
  • Zoom

An annual general body meeting was held on July 5th, 2021 and was billed as REJUVENATION as it marked the rejuvenation of LHMCAANA.

The event was chaired by Mona Gupta’89 and technically hosted by Reshma Hingorani and Ramya Pinnamaneni.

After a brief silence for all the lives lost to COVID, Mona highlighted the 3 main take away from the previous Zoom on April 24th 2021:

  • Mentoring
  • Special interest fun groups
  • A joint social cause

LHMCAANA had put into effect these programs and the work done so far was showcased in this meeting.

Archana Maini, the immediate past president then introduced Dr. Neeraj Mathur the immediate past director of LHMC. Dr. Mathur clearly laid out the Vision for LHMC to have LHMC as a tertiary hospital and not only a women’s and children’s hospital. He informed us that a master plan was in place at LHMC which had numerous setbacks including the pandemic, however it is still in motion. Dr. Mathur requested that alumni in North America help to arrange a student exchange program for LHMC students with institutes in North America and raise funds for special equipment at LHMC.

Richa Chandra chair of the Vision Committee and the new president of LHMCAANA introduced the new Board and Executive Committee and shared the Vision for LHMCAANA to be a Vibrant network that:

  • Celebrates, Supports and Empowers women physicians
  • Helps to establish our Alma Mater LHMC as a preeminent institution

Richa then interviewed the New Director Principal Dr. Aparna Agarwal who charmed us with her genuine simplicity and her views were in complete synchrony with Dr. Mathur.

Dr. Anju Jain President of LHMCAA had sent a prerecorded message to the LHMCAANA.

Sugandha Agarwal than moderated 5 presentations from the 5 Interest groups that summarized the vibrancy of LHMCAANA:

  • Reading club show (Dr. Asha Puri)
  • Cooking club (Dr. KumKum)
  • Gardening (Dr. Ramya)
  • Happy feet (Dr. Sugandha)
  • Hypnosis (Dr.KumKum)

Hardonians for Mizoram were invited by Richa Chandra to share their activities-summarized elsewhere.

Mona gave the closing remarks, which was followed by a dance by Sugandha where all attendees joined in. Attendees stayed back to chat in Breakout rooms.

Overall a complete success with total rejuvenation!
