I represent the batch of 1981, did my MD from MAMC and worked at Safdarjang Hospital. I moved to the US and first obtained a Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota. Subsequently, I did my Internal Medicine residency from the University of Minnesota. My employment experience has included outpatient practice, extensive hospitalist experience, long term care and I currently work as an emergency room physician at the VA Minneapolis. I also hold an academic appointment at the U of Minnesota.
Personally, Raj (my husband who’s a software engineer) and I have lived in Minnesota for over 25 years. Our adult daughter and her husband are doing their residency at Pittsburgh, (secretly I hope they will eventually come back home!)..
My vision as Mid West Regional Director:
I’m very engaged and involved at the community level and at my county level for programs and decisions that have a downstream impact on everyday lives. Some would call me ‘ citizen activist’. I believe in grassroots involvement and the power of reason and listening. I also believe in meeting people where they are embracing change as it comes.
I am privileged to have an opportunity to create and coalesce a larger body of LHMC alumni and demonstrate the power of sisterhood, friendship and professional support.
